Do you have those times when you feel that you have lost yourself? When you look in the mirror and don’t know who is looking back? Do you ever have those times when you look around and nothing looks familiar? People that were in your life aren’t, you feel like you are drifting around on autopilot. You feel like your depression and self-doubt is taking over. You are running from life and decision-making situations. You don’t feel as though you want to deal with anything or anyone. You have been placed in situations that are humbling and you don’t know how or when you got to this place. You feel suffocated by life and wandering aimlessly. Tired has a new definition in your world.
Restoration is defined as the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition. You ever see those tv shows where they find old furniture that was probably found on the side of the road and the person on the show sees the furniture and they see potential in that furniture? They take the chair or table whatever it may be and sand it, replace nails, paint, and shellac that furniture and the end result is beyond belief. Never in a million years did you think that furniture could be restored to look like new. It could be placed now in any office, restaurant, or home and is now a conversation piece, because of its beauty.
That piece of furniture is symbolic of the choices we make in life. Our choices can leave us broken, stressed, unhealthy and beat down by the curb. Feeling as if the world has passed you by. Just when you thought it was time to give up, you ask yourself how did I get here? Why me? Sometimes we have to go through! We have to be humbled and reminded of who we are and what we are capable of. When you lose yourself in self-pity and depression it is a hard place to come out of. When things are hard you have a greater appreciation for what you have gone through.
When you are in that place of grief and despair, when the world seems to have turned their back on you, there is always going to be one person who sees you on that curb broken who sees the beauty and potential in you. The one and only who can pick you up and restore you back to the person he created you to be. He will dust you off and polish you into the person that can be the conversation piece in any new office, new home, or a new restaurant. All it takes is faith, trust, and belief, that he is not finished with you yet. Your story is not finished yet, you have more chapters to be written. You have to trust that your purpose is greater than your past choices, you have to believe that he never left you!! If he had left you, you may not be here to have this second or third chance. You have to have Faith in him and remember that your way doesn’t work.
Deuteronomy 30:3-4
3 God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he’ll have compassion on you; he’ll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered.
4 No matter how far away you end up, God, your God, will get you out of there
This was great and on point!
